New Nepalese Friends

IMG_8982By Pastor Glem Melo

Last Sunday, we met Krishna and Apsara for the first time.  Today, we had a great time walking, chatting, and praying with them in the park.

Please help us pray for our dear Nepalese brother and sister in Christ.  May the Lord bless, keep, and use them for His kingdom and glory.

This is Your Jesus

By Pastor Glem Melo

DT407According to Mark 1:21-39,
Jesus is our Teacher, Liberator, and Healer.

This is your Jesus.
This is the Jesus of your family.
This is the Jesus of your city.
Know and believe:
He wants to heal and set you free.
And He will.

Christ heals through His word.
Saturate yourself and your family
with His word.
Christ_Healing_the_Sick,_1813,_by_Washington_Allston_(1779-1843)_-_Worcester_Art_Museum_-_IMG_7700How are you saturating
yourself and your family
with Christ’s word?
If not much or not at all,
then that is the problem.
Recommit yourself to God’s word.
Let us be busy with the word of God.

Let us continue to meet new people,
share Christ to them,
and pray that
He will teach, heal, and set them free
from all the works of the enemy.
The Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit
are always working…

Yanan Goes to Moody

by Pastor Glem Melo

Our family praises the Lord and rejoices that Yanan has been admitted at Moody Bible Institute. I am praying and advising him to take their Five-Year Bachelor of Arts/Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies program (

Since his early childhood, it has always been Yanan’s dream and aspiration to serve Christ as a church planter and pastor. After his undergraduate and graduate education, he hopes to be ordained as a missionary pastor and sent out to lead the planting and development of a church among Muslims in the United States or abroad.

While studying, Yanan will help us reach Hindu and Muslim teens in the Devon/Little India.

We thank the Lord that his tuition is free, but he needs to find a job in Chicago to pay for room and board.

Please continue praying for our family and ministry.

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. (2 Timothy 4:1-2)

And kindly ask the Holy Spirit to make him and his family abundantly fruitful as they reach out, serve, and plant house churches among Buddhists, Hindus, and Muslims in the Devon/Little India area of Chicago.

Capstone Project Defense Passed

We congratulate pastor Glem Melo for passing his Capstone Project defense at Mid-America Reformed Seminary in Dyer, IN. His 32-page paper is entitled “A Ministry of Mercy: Gospelizing Muslims.” He will graduate with the degree of Master of Theological Studies on May 3.

Pastor Glem founded Open Eyes Mission in Mindanao, Philippines, in 1998.  For 20 years now, the Lord has been using him to preach the gospel to thousands, train and mentor hundreds of pastors and leaders, provide relief and other humanitarian services to thousands of the poorest of the poor, and plant 4 churches in the 3 major regions of the Philippines.

IMG_8698Presently, he and his family are residing and serving God in the Devon/Little India area of Chicago. Their vision: Faithful and fruitful churches that will serve as training and sending bases for church planting teams to Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and other unreached people groups worldwide.

Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel,
who alone does marvelous deeds.
Praise be to his glorious name forever;
may the whole earth be filled with his glory.
Amen and Amen.
