OEM Collage 2015-03-17We continue to thank and praise the Lord for sustaining and even growing our ministry in the Philippines. The 3 churches that we planted there, and the 2 that I have been training in theology and ministry, continue to faithfully serve Christ and His people. And just recently, a pastor in Manila agreed to study the Westminster Confession and catechisms and the Book of Presbyterian Church Order with me. And he is praying and seeking God’s will and direction regarding church planting.

In Beirut, Lebanon, our brothers and sisters in the faith continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ. Through multimedia and internet-based tools, I have been teaching and continue to teach them important truths from the Bible regarding God and his saving work.

Devon 1In Chicago, where my family and I are residing at the present, we are building partnerships and raising funds to establish a life and family care and development center. Our goal is to serve the Asians, Africans, ArabsHispanics, , and others through holistic ministry programs. In the future, we hope to establish the same in Detroit, Los Angeles, London, and other megacities of the United States and Europe.

These international expansions necessitate that we change our name. And that, we unanimously voted to do. Internationally and without dissension, our organization’s leadership agreed yesterday, September 25, 2017, to change our name to NEW HOPE GLOBAL. A new website is being developed at www.YourNewHope.org.

Please pray as we work through the process of submitting change name requests to government agencies, our bank, and social media organizations.

About Glem Melo

I am a believer and follower of Christ, happily married, and have 3 wonderful kids. I am the founder and CEO of Open Eyes Mission, under the care of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) Chicago Metro Presbytery, pastoral intern at Faith Church in Dyer, Indiana, and studying Master of Divinity at Mid-America Reformed Seminary. The Bible teaches that God is real, man is sinful, hell is real, and Jesus is our only hope of salvation. I believe these truths with all of my heart, and I hope to help others learn of them as well. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) May God give you grace and peace.
