Track of Tropical Storm Matmo (Henry)

By Pastor Glem Melo

We thank the Lord that the new Tropical Storm Matmo (Henry) has moved eastward and is not going to make a landfall in the Philippines. But please do keep praying for our country. Thousands are still struggling and suffering in the aftermath of typhoon Rammasun (Glenda). The death toll is now at least 64. And the southwest monsoon enhanced by Matmo is causing added problems and miseries to affected areas.

Rammasun chinaLet us also remember to pray for Rammasun-affected areas in China. Accuweather.com reports,

Rammasun brought widespread winds of over 100 mph and caused wind damage to the Leizhou Peninsula. Damaging winds will also be possible across southern Guangdong and Guangxi Provinces Friday night in China as well as northern Vietnam late Friday night into Saturday. Flooding rain, mudslides and coastal storm surge will also be risks associated with Rammasun.

In wrath, may the Lord remember mercy (Habakkuk 3:2).

About Glem Melo

I am a believer and follower of Christ, happily married, and have 3 wonderful kids. I am the founder and CEO of Open Eyes Mission, under the care of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) Chicago Metro Presbytery, pastoral intern at Faith Church in Dyer, Indiana, and studying Master of Divinity at Mid-America Reformed Seminary. The Bible teaches that God is real, man is sinful, hell is real, and Jesus is our only hope of salvation. I believe these truths with all of my heart, and I hope to help others learn of them as well. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) May God give you grace and peace.
