Once again, our beloved nation needs the prayers of Christian brothers and sisters worldwide. Please do so.
As I write, the northern and some central provinces of our country is being battered by a typhoon that is equivalent to a Category 3 hurricane. Three (3) province have already been placed under a state of calamity: Albay, Camarines del Norte, and Camarines del Sur. The typhoon is blowing off roofs, toppling trees and electric poles, and flooding villages. In Albay alone, more than 320,000 have been evacuated.
The Weather Channel reports,
Typhoon Rammasun (also known as Glenda in the Philippines) has undergone a last-minute spike in intensity while making its first landfall in the Philippines Tuesday. The typhoon will continue to move west across that island nation through Wednesday, bringing a dangerous combination of damaging winds, flooding rainfall, and storm surge.
Rammasun is the strongest typhoon to landfall in the Philippines since Super Typhoon Haiyan ravaged the central Philippines eight months ago. The eyewall of Rammasun is staying north of the area devastated from Super Typhoon Haiyan, including the city of Tacloban… Over 2,100 people, many of whom still living in tents after Haiyan, were evacuated to the Tacloban Astrodome, given the wind forecast.
In Legazpi, the provincial capital of Albay, storm chaser James Reynolds posted the following on Twitter:
According to netizens who filmed its onslaught, the typhoon was “as mad as hell”. You can view their videos here.
Please pray for the Philippines.
