On the 2nd leg of our 4th Haiyan/Yolanda Outreach, our team visited, spent time with, encouraged, and prayed for the families that we have been ministering to and helping in practical ways since the supertyphoon came.
When we first met the Caseres family, their house was totally destroyed, yet they continued to raise livestock in their yard lot. Patiently, they worked to provide for their family and eventually got back to cooking fried peanuts for selling. Little by little, they built a shelter to live in – not like the house that they used to have, but good enough to keep the family safe and dry during the rainy season. Having observed how they trust the Lord and persevere as Christians, we decided to give them a substantial livelihood grant.
Please remember to pray for the Caceres family and many others, who continue to live in makeshift shelters, more than 5 months after the disaster. Ask the Lord also to increase our mission’s resources so that we can help more families through livelihood grants.
