  • Two powerful explosions in Tripoli
  • At least 42 people have been killed
  • 600 were wounded
  • The twin blasts are the deadliest attack in Lebanon since 1990.
  • lebanon 2013-08-24 b“The crime of Tripoli is further evidence that the situation in Lebanon reached a very critical stage,” says designate prime minister Tammam Salam.

Pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in Lebanon.

The past two (2) weeks, I also enjoyed leading in-depth Bible study chats with Fillipino Christians in a Facebook group. I am greatly encouraged by their hunger and thirst for God’s word, and see possibilities in the not-so-distant future of establishing a Bible Training Program for them and others in the Middle East. Operation World reports:

“Lebanon remains the only land in the Middle East where all are legally free to change their religious affiliation. Believers from most other Arab countries can more freely come to Lebanon for Christian training. Pray for this religious freedom to be maintained.”

I totally agree. Lebanon holds a crucial role for the advancement of the Great Commission in the Middle East. Pray for the protection of our Christian brothers and sisters and for religious freedom to be preserved in Lebanon.

About Glem Melo

I am a believer and follower of Christ, happily married, and have 3 wonderful kids. I am the founder and CEO of Open Eyes Mission, under the care of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) Chicago Metro Presbytery, pastoral intern at Faith Church in Dyer, Indiana, and studying Master of Divinity at Mid-America Reformed Seminary. The Bible teaches that God is real, man is sinful, hell is real, and Jesus is our only hope of salvation. I believe these truths with all of my heart, and I hope to help others learn of them as well. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) May God give you grace and peace.
