Matthew’s Message

Matthew by Frans Hals

Matthew by Frans Hals

By Pastor Glem Melo

The gospel according to Matthew proclaims… Jesus is the Messiah. In Him God’s kingdom or rule has begun. His coming sets before us life and death, salvation and judgment. Choose salvation and life. Repent and believe.

“Matthew’s gospel… is a proclamation of Christ. That Jesus is the Christ is the great truth that forms the basis of the entire narrative [of His life, death and resurrection]. ” – Herman Ridderbos on Matthew 1:1

Commentaries on Matthew

Commentaries on Matthew

“At the heart of [Christ’s] ministry is proclamation of a message identical with that of John the Baptist (3:2) and later to be echoed by Jesus’ disciples (10:7). Jesus calls for a decisive response to a new situation, the arrival in his ministry of the kingdom of heaven.” – Richard T. France on Matthew 4:17

About Glem Melo

I am a believer and follower of Christ, happily married, and have 3 wonderful kids. I am the founder and President of Open Eyes Mission (ministering as New Hope Global in the U.S.); a church planter among Muslims, Hindus, and other unreached people groups in the Devon/Little India area of Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A., under Park Community Church; and studying Master of Divinity at Mid-America Reformed Seminary. The Bible teaches that God is real, man is sinful, hell is real, and Jesus is our only hope of salvation. I believe these truths with all of my heart, and I hope to help others learn of them as well. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) May God give you grace and peace.
