Manila and Luzon’s Flood Death Toll Now 43

Our fellow countrymen in Manila and Luzon continue to suffer the effects of floods caused by torrential rains that lasted for two days. The Philippine Star reports:

The death toll from heavy rains and floods spawned by the southwest monsoon has risen to 43… a total of 2.11 million persons or 460,273 families have been affected… 580,079 persons or 119,751 families have been displaced… 314,795 persons or 66,577 families are now inside 630 evacuation centers.

We are in close communication with pastors and Christian brothers and sisters in affected areas. Please pray as we seek the Lord and develop a concrete plan to help victims.

About Glem Melo

I am a believer and follower of Christ, happily married, and have 3 wonderful kids. I am the founder and CEO of Open Eyes Mission, under the care of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) Chicago Metro Presbytery, pastoral intern at Faith Church in Dyer, Indiana, and studying Master of Divinity at Mid-America Reformed Seminary. The Bible teaches that God is real, man is sinful, hell is real, and Jesus is our only hope of salvation. I believe these truths with all of my heart, and I hope to help others learn of them as well. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) May God give you grace and peace.
