Last Saturday, we invited pastors and ministry leaders in our city to join us in an inter-church sharing and consultation meeting. Sovereignly, God used that to usher in the formation of Protect The Children CDO (PROTECT), a network for the protection and rehabilitation of children flood victims-survivors. Our mission is to protect them from abuse, trafficking and other dangers.
Yesterday (Sunday), from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, we went with 27 PROTECT volunteers to visit and conduct a data-gathering survey of the children and families at Calaanan Tent City. We plan to do this every Sunday afternoon as regular inter-church outreach activities.
We need to do more visitation and survey outreaches. Our goal is to gather sufficient and relevant data in order to (1) identify who among the hundreds of children in evacuation centers and tent cities are at the highest risks, and (2) develop and implement an effective protection and rehabilitation program for them.
Please pray for more volunteers to be recruited for this urgent mission.
